In a short amount of time I have made some inroads into the list. I have now implemented a game rating and review system Started creating my home page with news articles. Cleaned up the game submission forms Commissioned a small logo for the site. I'm pretty confident it was drawn without the use of generative AI.
The above brings me to my next decision. The amount of homebrew has dramatically increased lately, especially with the help of AI. To be clear I'm not against AI but I understand many in the community are. I won't be excluding games that have used AI in their development but how should such games be labelled? For some, any use of AI is a no. And for some it's only when the games have AI generated art and music but AI used to help with debugging and writing code is ok. A good example is a recent translation of a Japanese game I read about. The translation, coding and programming were all done without AI, but it's been suggested that a compression program that utilises AI was used. Whether that's actually the case, I don't know, but it raises an interesting question. Should that game carry the same AI label as one that uses AI generated artwork or music? So for the site I want to be able to mark games that have used some sort of AI but indicate what was used to see if it meets peoples acceptable threshold for AI. I hope to be able to implement something so the site can be a reliable source and help people find games that meet their tolerance to the use of AI in the games they play.
